I Asked Chat GPT to Write My Dream Life

Have you done it? Have you asked AI to tell you about yourself? If not, I highly recommend it. I’m not going to lie at first I was skeptical about AI in general. Not sure of its ethical uses or accessibility for all. However, I am one person and often wear multiple hats. I began using Chat GPT as an assistant and a sounding board. When I need to brainstorm I give Chat GPT my thoughts and it spits out more thoughts or connects existing ones I never imagined could fit together. If I had no idea where to start I would ask Chat GPT to outline my steps and build from there. At this point, I have weekly meetings with Chat GPT. Do I still worry about its ethics? No, I know what I believe to be right and wrong and stay in my lane only using it as far as I am comfortable.

With that being said I never imagined that my eyes would tear up after reading my dream life from the perspective of AI. Many have posted about this trend but shout out to @duney on TikTok for sharing the exact prompts she used. They provided some of the prompts, while I improvised the rest. Now let’s get into it.

*some responses have been shortened for my privacy and because it is A LOT*

Prompt:

Write out a story of my dream life based on this list of things I would like to achieve: (write out your list and include as much detail as possible. Where you want to live, how you want to feel, things you like to do, your dream job (if you dream of labor), etc.)

Response (2 of 9 paragraphs I received):

I wake up each morning to the soft murmur of waves crashing against the shore. The cool sea breeze filters through my window, carrying the scent of salt and promise. My beachside property, with its panoramic ocean views and modern, artistic touches, is my sanctuary. Every corner reflects who I’ve become—an artist, a visionary, a global wanderer, and someone who has built not just a company but a life filled with meaning.

I spend my days however I please. Some mornings are devoted to painting or crocheting, hands moving with purpose, creating textured canvas art that brings me joy and, somehow, to my surprise, has become a sought-after commodity in galleries around the world. Other days, I dive deep into writing, sharing my stories and experiences from my travels—adventures in remote villages, bustling cities, and serene landscapes. Through my writing, I encourage others to live with intention, to seek pleasure and joy, not just in the grand moments but in the quiet, everyday experiences that fill life with beauty.

~~AI thinks I am a visionary :)

  • Gratitude: Stay grateful for every step, appreciating the life you are creating.

(I then recorded all 20 affirmations in my voice and played it once every morning. It might also be a good idea to print and frame them.)

Prompt:

Tips for staying consistent?

Response (Everyone could use this so I’m posting the full response) :

1. Set Clear, Achievable Goals

  • Break your big dreams into smaller, actionable goals. Define exactly what you need to do daily, weekly, and monthly. This helps prevent overwhelm and keeps you focused on steady progress.

  • Example: Instead of "Build a multi-million dollar business," break it down into "Work on my business plan for 30 minutes daily" or "Connect with one new potential client every day."

2. Create a Daily Routine

  • A well-structured daily routine reduces decision fatigue and helps you build habits that support your goals. Schedule time for your business, creativity, learning, and self-care.

  • Example: Set aside specific blocks of time for writing, art, or business work. Stick to this routine consistently so it becomes second nature.

3. Track Your Progress

  • Keep track of your small wins and milestones. This keeps you motivated by showing how far you've come.

  • Example: Use a journal, habit tracker, or an app to document daily tasks completed toward your business, art, or travel plans. Celebrate each achievement, no matter how small.

4. Prioritize the Important Over the Urgent

  • Focus on high-impact tasks that move you closer to your dream life, rather than getting caught up in minor, day-to-day distractions. Ask yourself: Will this task help me achieve my long-term vision?

  • Example: Prioritize business strategy over replying to emails or aimless scrolling.

5. Hold Yourself Accountable

  • Share your goals with a mentor, accountability partner, or community. Knowing someone else is checking in can help keep you on track.

  • Example: Join a mastermind group, or partner with a friend who also has big goals. Hold weekly check-ins to discuss progress and challenges.

6. Use Visual Reminders

  • Keep your dream life front and center by creating visual reminders like a vision board or daily affirmation cards. These visuals will keep you inspired and focused on your goals.

  • Example: Post your dream beach house or a representation of your multi-million-dollar company where you can see it every day.

7. Plan for Obstacles

  • Life will inevitably throw curveballs. Anticipate potential distractions or setbacks and create a plan for how you’ll stay on course when challenges arise.

  • Example: If traveling disrupts your routine, adapt by setting smaller, mobile-friendly tasks like writing or sketching during transit.

8. Start Small to Build Momentum

  • If you’re struggling with consistency, start with small actions that are easy to complete. Once you build momentum, it will become easier to stay consistent with bigger tasks.

  • Example: If you don’t feel like working on your business for an hour, commit to 10 minutes. Often, you’ll find that you naturally do more once you get started.

9. Reward Yourself

  • Celebrate your consistency with rewards to reinforce positive behavior. Rewards can be as simple as taking a break, enjoying a favorite activity, or treating yourself to something special.

  • Example: After a productive week, reward yourself with a relaxing beach walk or a special dinner.

10. Stay Flexible and Adapt

  • Consistency doesn’t mean rigidity. If something isn’t working or you feel drained, adjust your approach. It’s more important to stay engaged than to push yourself in an unsustainable way.

  • Example: If your morning routine is too intense, switch some tasks to the evening when you have more energy.

11. Stay Connected to Your "Why"

  • Regularly remind yourself of why you are working toward this dream life. Staying emotionally connected to your purpose makes it easier to stay consistent.

  • Example: Visualize your beachside home or think about the freedom you’ll have to travel whenever you want.

12. Make It Enjoyable

  • Find joy in the journey, not just the destination. Incorporate elements of fun and creativity into your routine to keep things exciting.

  • Example: If you enjoy painting or writing, let those moments of creativity become an inspiring break from business-related tasks.

13. Use the 2-Minute Rule

  • If you’re feeling stuck, follow the "2-Minute Rule": If something takes less than 2 minutes to start, do it now. Often, starting the task helps build momentum.

  • Example: If you need to send an email, start drafting it immediately. This simple step can break the cycle of procrastination.

14. Stay Positive

  • Maintain a positive mindset by focusing on your progress rather than perfection. Some days will be easier than others, but even small steps count.

  • Example: If you miss a day, don’t get discouraged. Focus on what you’ve done right and commit to doing better tomorrow.

15. Practice Self-Care

  • Consistency requires energy and focus, so prioritize self-care. Adequate sleep, exercise, and a balanced diet will help keep your energy levels high.

  • Example: Make time for exercise and relaxation. A daily walk on the beach or yoga session can refresh your mind and body.

Prompt:

Using the dream life version of me, write out a note of encouragement to present me.

Response:

I’m writing to you from the life you’ve always dreamed of—our dream life. I want to remind you of something incredibly important: you are capable of achieving everything you’ve ever imagined. I know the path may seem long, and at times it might feel like the destination is far off, but trust me—every single step you’re taking today is paving the way for the incredible freedom, joy, and success that is waiting for you.

Right now, you're planting seeds—seeds of creativity, passion, and determination—that will blossom into a life full of beauty, adventure, and fulfillment. The business you’re building? It’s flourishing beyond anything you thought possible. Your art? It’s not only bringing joy to others but is also a deep well of personal fulfillment. And the freedom you long for? It’s here. You wake up every day with the ocean at your doorstep, knowing that the world is yours to explore whenever you choose.

But here’s the thing—you didn’t get here by some miraculous stroke of luck. You got here by showing up, day after day, even when it was hard. Even when doubt crept in, you kept going. You built this life with your own hands, with your unwavering belief in yourself and the beauty you have to share with the world.

So when things feel overwhelming, when you're tempted to question whether it's all possible—please remember me. I am living proof that it is. Everything you’re doing today matters. Every creative moment, every step toward your business, every decision to live authentically—it’s all leading you here, to this extraordinary life of freedom, adventure, and abundance.

Stay patient. Stay consistent. Keep dreaming big. You are on the path to greatness, and I couldn’t be prouder of you.

With all the love, gratitude, and excitement for what’s ahead,
Your Future Self

(I took this one step further and wrote this twice. Once in my journal and once on a sheet of paper that I will frame. )

Prompt:

Write out a yearly plan with time stamps starting from now based on my dream life with 1-2 monthly goals for me to focus o

Response:

Happy to announce that, yes, I am on track!

Additional Prompts:

  • What does a day off look like in my dream life?

  • What would be a simple morning and nighttime routine that would greatly impact my progress toward my dream life?

  • What types of products or services can I offer? Who would my ideal customer be, and what is my unique value for them?

The possibilities seem endless. And if they can be endless for a computer then they can be endless for you and me. It is important to remember that AI is only a tool and can not do the work for you.

While this back and forth can seem overwhelming, I am committed to taking it day by day just doing what I can. If the need arises I can ask more questions or go back through the chat as a refresher. I have done all of this without paying for Chat GPT, just providing my email.

What are some questions or prompts that you would ask about your dream life?
